One of Google’s Hidden Gems and it’s Free

If you haven’t heard of Google’s free photo editing software called Picasa then take a couple of minutes and check it out. You will be pleasantly surprised.

It’s not only allow’s you to edit photos but it may be the best way for you to see every photo and video on your computer. Organization is a big part of Picasa.

If you tag a person in one photo, the software will scan for their image in all the photos with surprising accuracy.

Making slideshows and videos is done with ease.  Upload to Youtube with a click of the mouse.

To make a movie choose the photos and the size you want the output.  Add an audio track and transition style…hit create.

Google doesn’t boldly advertise its video features, but it is a unique feature that some may find very valuable.  The list of video formats that can be viewed with Picasa is comparable to top of the line Video Editors.

Picasa will play the following video formats:  mpg, wmv, asf, avi, mov, 3gp, mp4, m2t, m2ts, mts, and mmv.

There aren’t many video organizers that will show you your HD video (m2ts files).  Google has outdone Sony and some big players with this software.
